Rambling

Blogging is work ... and sometimes I just don't feel like doing it.
I think to myself, "This would be a great time to blog! I have sooooo much to say and share!"
But does it happen, no. This is kind of how I approach doing the dishes too.
Once I get started it's fun! But I have trouble getting started ...
Come to think of it, I have trouble getting started with a lot of things in life ... running, language study, getting out of bed, cooking ... sometime I just can't be bothered to stop what I have already started and start something else. Would you call this being lazy or contented?

On another note, this is something I wrote in class the other day (yes, I was suppose to be teaching, but the students were working on their own):
"I am alone. While other people around me speak my language, they don't - they can't - understand me completely. My background, my sense of humor ... none of this is possible to translate or describe. And the same for them too. All I hear is emptiness. Who are they, really?"

Slightly depressing I know. I don't feel like this often, honest. I really feel as if I have adapted fairly well to the culture and environment here. But sometimes I feel like an apple that has been place in a tomato bin. I can try to blend in all I want, but it's just not going to fool anyone! (saw this in the bazar the other day ... I wonder if anyone else noticed)

I did bother to get up and get the notebook where I had written that quote ... :)

  1. I am sorry you felt like this. But i completely understand the feeling! It is very hard to adjust to some where completely. When you are in a different country it is hard to feel like you fit in. Shoot i still feel like that!! Every time people say jokes that go beyond my ability, or when conversations float above my vocabulary i wonder why I bother listening. It will get better sister it will :) You may even find this whole experience has changed you for the better! Love you bunches! See you tomorrow.
