The city I am living in celebrated it's 2504th birthday this year!
(supposedly, I don't know who's been responsible for the counting)
And to celebrate they had a parade, some readings of their 'famous' historic poet, and some ancient-dressed people and camels!
The poor camels ... it was a hot day!
Even though it was hot, I enjoyed having a student/ friend of mine show me
around and tell me about the history of the city.
While I have come to enjoy a number of different foods here,
my weakness and all-time favorite dessert here is the tutku cookie!
(never miss an opportunity to try these, yummy!)
